Sunset Celebration

Cloe (left) was fully enjoying her nightly ritual Sunset Celebration when Cleo decided he wanted to stir things up. A quick pull on his leash let Cloe continue in peace 🙂

Bird in Wildflowers

A montage containing a sweet little bird, two photos of dried flowers, blowing grasses and some rusty metal.

Walking the Cat

Cloe as seen by my DroidX. No post processing!
It’s no wonder this photography is addictive 🙂

Schultz Creek Trail Aspens

This was a challenging scene to capture because the best vantage point was down a steep embankment off Schultz Pass Road. Totally worth the effort, though! Hope the color isn’t too far off. I’ve been transitioning to a new computer for a couple of weeks now and I’m not working on a calibrated monitor.

Reata Pass

Reata Pass is only a couple of miles from my house so I run up there whenever I’m in need of a photo of the day. My hope is that this section along Alma School won’t suffer the same fate as the Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse where the majority of old buildings are. That area has been slated for development 🙁

Gambel’s Quail at Sunrise

I put a Cholla Skeleton outside the dining room window knowing birds would use as a perch and I’d have a good chance of getting some nice images. The hard part, though, is keeping the birds from seeing me! It’s no problem in the afternoon but at sunrise, they take off at the slightest movement so I typically crawl on the floor until I reach the window and then slowly get up. Sometimes I make it but not this time. I like the result anyway 🙂

Drover’s Shack

One of my favorite photo ops at Boyce Thompson Arboretum is the area devoted to the deserts of Australia. It’s filled with Eucalyptus Trees and other flora from that country. To add authenticity, they even built a Drover’s (sheep herders) Shack and a Windmill. There is also an old rusty pickup truck to complete the picture.  DroidX photo
