A Bit of Australia

Besides touring the Mansion at Boyce Thompson on Sunday, I headed to the Drover’s Shack in the Australian section of the Arboretum. It’s especially fun to shoot Infrared there.

Here’s one of my favorite images from Boyce Thompson Arboretum.  (Infrared capture in the Australian section of BTA.)

Drover’s Bunk

Another DroidX shot from the Drover’s Shack at Boyce Thompson Arboretum but looking inside this time. The room was pretty dark except for light from two windows so I held the phone firmly against the window frame, held my breath and pressed the shutter.

Drover’s Shack

One of my favorite photo ops at Boyce Thompson Arboretum is the area devoted to the deserts of Australia. It’s filled with Eucalyptus Trees and other flora from that country. To add authenticity, they even built a Drover’s (sheep herders) Shack and a Windmill. There is also an old rusty pickup truck to complete the picture.  DroidX photo
