Sedona Fall Color – Cave Springs Wash
Cave Springs Wash is near the Cave Springs Campground just a few miles north of the West Fork Trail. It is my favorite place to photograph Maple Trees of all colors! Following are my favorite images from this trip:

This is the largest Maple Tree I’ve seen in Oak Creek Canyon. Note all the baby Maples in the background which are springing up after a devastating fire some years ago. (panorama using Fuji X E-1)

It’s difficult to find unblemished Maple Leaves. I think it must be our warm fall that gives bugs and fungus a chance to get to them. (smartphone)

Maple leaves are just as beautiful on the forest floor as on the trees, don’t you think?! (smartphone)

Your work is stunning…I had a blast sharing the scenery with you!
Thanks very much, Pamela! I look forward to shooting with you again 🙂
I am SO envious! You guys have the most amazing trees which turn fabulous colours. Also the forest floor all littered with that textured wood and rocks. Just amazing. Your photos are a real treat!
Love the previous ones too and your campsite in the glass ball is fantastic. Plus I see a croc where you see a snake. I can’t believe I’m googling Sponge Bob Square Pants to see what the squid looks like….. lol. Enjoying all your pictures so far. You must have had the most wonderful summer/fall and you must be super fit with all this hiking!
