I was pleasantly surprised to encounter a couple of butterflies!

Western Pygmy Blue captured with my Galaxy Smartphone. I had positioned the leaf to make focusing easier for the phone but I ended up loving it. Wish I had done it with the higher resolution camera!

Western Pygmy Blue captured with my Galaxy Smartphone. Not a great photo but I wanted to show perspective using my hand and the Aspen leaf. I had positioned the leaf to make focusing easier for the phone but I ended up loving it. Wish I had done it with the higher resolution camera!

I’ve been having fun taking photos through a Glass Ball (I call it an Orb). I like holding the ball and thus having my fingers show in the images so it turned out to much more challenging than I thought. I held the ball in my left hand and either my Smartphone or Canon N in my right. Achieving auto focus did not always work but I ended up with quite a few winners and now I’m hooked!

I titled this one "I See Fall Color in our Future!" This was my first idea and the most difficult so far but mostly because of the wind. (Canon N)

  1. More lovely images! You really look like you are having a great time. So pleased you found a few butterflies and no matter how many times I see a tiny blue or copper, I never fail to be amazed by how tiny they are.

The glass ball looks like great fun…. hmmmm……I may have to get me one of them. 🙂

And I read the previous reply and I take note about the camera and the infrared (if that is what you said it was – can’t go back and check whilst typing this!). Didn’t know they existed and know nothing about them, but they do produce some pretty clever results!

    • Thanks as always Mandy, for taking the time to commeet! (We photographers crave feedback as evidenced by our constant posting 🙂 Regarding the glass ball….Frustating at first but I’m thinking you’d love playing with it!
