Cutleaf Coneflower

Yet another shot of Cutleaf Coneflower.

Aspens Stirred

This impressionistic photograph of Aspen Trees and Cutleaf Coneflowers was captured along Schultz Creek Trail in Flagstaff. I love moving my camera during exposure! Because I’ve been doing it for so long, I can almost predict every time what a photo will look like using certain movements. I’m often asked exactly how to do it but it really boils down to practice. That goes for any photographic style you love; macro, landscapes, etc. Practice, practice, practice like a musician with his instrument!

Pine White

Yesterday I posted a shot of a White that had me puzzled because of the orange markings. As it turned out, that coloration identifies the female of the species. Today, I’m posting a shot of the male Pine White. He’s enjoying nectar from a Cutleaf Coneflower.

Cutleaf Coneflower Art

I’m hoping to find Cutleaf Coneflower in bloom on our upcoming road trip to Flagstaff. This photo was taken on the Schultz Pass trail last year about this time. The background was pretty boring so I played it up by adding various textures. It made a fun print!

Cutleaf Coneflower

I’m fairly sure this is Rudbeckia laciniata. They were 4-6 feet tall and all along a little creek making for a spectacular scene! This a DroidX image using its Panorama cropping. Not bad! It’s out of focus, though, so I hope to have another stab at it.
