Fleabane Textured

Fleabane captured at the Flagstaff Arboretum and then grunged up in Photoshop with a few layers of textures. A truly easy process! Here’s a sample of the many free tutorials available on the web: Photoshop Texture Tutorial. If you really enjoy this stuff, you might want to consider taking one of Carol Leigh’s Montage Workshops.

They Came From….

During a recent hike with a friend on a dark, overcast day, we rounded a corner and saw this scene. My friend saw dead Cholla while I saw creatures from Outer Space 🙂

Tangled Web

I noticed this spider late yesterday and was mesmerized. He was repairing his web and I could hardly believe how fast he was doing it. I grabbed a quick handheld shot but didn’t have my ISO high enough so it wasn’t in focus. A little Pixel Bender Oil Paint made it good enough for photo of the day. I hope to get a better picture of him/her later.

Lensbaby Luminaria

A composite of two images taken at the Desert Botanical Garden Luminaria this year and last. The stars (this year) are a result of using a Creative Aperture Disk in my Lensbaby which turns any point of light into the shape cutout of the disk. The kit includes some blank disks too so you might see some kitties in the near future 🙂

Lensbaby Stars and couple were both captured at ISO 1600.

Sleeping Camel Not

OK…I had a few comments which agree with Chris so here’s what I’m seeing. I guess his snout isn’t really long enough to be a camel but it could be a dinasaur camel. They probably looked different. OK…I’m stretching here 🙂

Sleeping Camel

Chris didn’t see it but to me it kind of looks like a Camel lying down with an ice pack on his head. (he’s facing to the right) A Camel with a hangover? Maybe? 🙂

Shot in HDR and a slight B/W treatment.

Thoughts of Spring

Fun with Flaming Pear Flexify2. Let’s pray for a little rain and no freeze!

Santa and Cyclists

More of my favorite ornaments but this time I used a Flaming Pear filter called Flexify to enclose them in a glass ball. I added a glass loop on top of the ball, sprinkled some photoshop snow inside and finished with a bevel and drop shadow. Fun stuff 🙂
