West Fork Trail Fall Color

West Fork has some great color this year! Here’s a link to more of my West Fork images:

Oak Creek Reflections

I’m especially looking forward to photographing reflections because you never know what you’ll get! I tend to like shooting a very slow shutterspeeds for swipes of color. This was taken in between giving it just a slight painterly look. 1/50th second at f/13.

Leaves Interrupted

Getting inspired by old fall photos from West Fork Trail. (Shot in 2001 with my Minolta Dimage 7.)

Maples in Arizona

Word has it that the Maples along the West Fork Trail are turning! Stay tuned.

West Fork Fall Color

Oak Creek reflections on the West Fork Trail north of Sedona. No…not from today. This was shot in 2002. I’ll be happy if all we find is a little color like this.

Fall Color in Infrared

I’m heading to Sedona in a few days and wishing and hoping for some fall color but if not, I can always fall back on Infrared! The young couple in the background is at L’Auberge de Sedona which is right across Oak Creek from my campground…..a Gorgeous and very romantic setting. I sometimes encounter people eating breakfast by the creek and I’m sure they think I’m spying on them 🙂

Roadrunner Food?

That’s what I wondered as I rounded the corner of my house this evening and saw a Roadrunner in front of a Desert Milkweed where I had spotted 6 Queen caterpillars this morning. There were only two left! Darn 🙁 I then wondered if that might have been what happened to the Chrysalis recently and to the other two caterpillars. Note to self….make some kind of screen to go over the plants as soon as I spot the caterpillars or I might never get to document the process. (shot handheld with my Canon 180 Macro)

Greasewood Flat

I’m lucky to have a lot of interesting photo ops within a few miles. Greasewood Flat is one of my favorites. There’s lots of old rusty stuff to shoot and they love visitors. Great hamburgers too! Be sure to add a slice of prickly pear cactus if you order one.
