Alta Mining Camp

We went back a second time to further explore the Alta Mining Camp and for more wildflowers. The camp covers a very large area with spectacular veiws and although the buildings are pretty run down, there is lots to shoot. I wish I could find more information but there’s almost none about the camp online. I’ll have to check out some history books. CLICK HERE for a link to some photos of Colorado Mines.

Tlaquepaque Chapel

I try to capture this cross a little differently each time we go to Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Villiage. This time I decided to add a texture to the image giving it a late day look.

A Bit of Australia

Besides touring the Mansion at Boyce Thompson on Sunday, I headed to the Drover’s Shack in the Australian section of the Arboretum. It’s especially fun to shoot Infrared there.

Picket Post Mansion

Boyce Thompson Arboretum offered tours of Picket Post Mansion, aka Castle on the Rocks, as a fundraiser this weekend and last. Tipod in hand, I hoped for some interesting HDR possibilites. With its tin ceiling and stained glass windows, this room was my favorite.

Parting Shot

One last shot from Tlaquepaque. It’s a great place for architectural details. Shot handheld in HDR. Processed in Photomatix

New Bridge over Oak Creek

Road Construction is finally finished into Sedona. All intersections are now round-a-bouts allowing traffic to move quickly and this new bridge was constructed beside Tlaquepaque making it much easier to cross the road plus giving me a new photo op:-)

Drovers Shack BTA

Here’s one of my favorite images from Boyce Thompson Arboretum.  (Infrared capture in the Australian section of BTA.)

Looking for Shadows

Looking for Shadows is the latest at home photo challenge I posted to my Digital Meetup Group. So many in our group leave for the summer right about now so these challenges are a way for them to stay in contact and share photos while they’re gone. Gotta love Meetup! Here’s one of my first finds. Actually….I notice these shadows at least once at month when I attend our digital club meetings but have never taken the time to capture them until yesterday. Pretty cool!
