Did this guy stay in the sun too long and turn into rock?
I did not see him first but will definitely add him to my Frankenstone and Friends 🙂

Cleo with his prize last night. We have a catch and release rule here and 99 percent
of the time the lizards live to tell about their ordeal. This was a good day for the lizard 🙂
Not a great photo but this was shot with my 5DMK2 which is NOT an action camera.
The main goal for my landscaping is to create an ultimate desert photo op.
One missing element in my yard is rocks and boulders but some are coming next week.
They will make this guy very happy! He was captured from my dining room window.
Once he has a boulder to hide under and do push ups on, I’m hoping he comes back 🙂
I don’t have a Lizard ID book yet so if anyone knows who this guy is, let me know. Thanks!
Cloe hadn’t moved in almost 30 minutes so I knew she must be staring at something.
My trusty Canon SX10 zooms in to see a huge collared lizard.
When it comes to starting contests, my cats win every time 🙂
The cats are always happy to see the lizards come out. We have a catch and release rule here and since cats like to keep their prey alive so they can play with them for awhile, all lizards have survived so far. There was one exception a couple of years ago that I didn’t discover until the next day. If you have a strong stomach, click this link: Cleo breaks the rules 🙂
Who is watching who? Either way, it’s fun watching them interact 🙂
(Same lizard as yesterday. Captured with Canon S5)
So near and yet so far! Lizards come to the doors often but I never quite get the shot.
I loved the cat’s silhouettes in the photo, though, so I played on that in Photoshop.
Below is the original shot with a Canon Point and Shoot.
I’m fairly sure this is the common Desert Spiny Lizard which I can always count on for a quick photo of the day 🙂
