lots of color on north access trail
If you’re still seeing this, it means I won’t have web access for the next several days.
Still lots of color on the North Access trail to Toms Thumb so get it while you can!
elephant rock
I spotted this guy by the side of East End Trail. His small ears identify him as an Asian elephant 🙂
Yesterday was also spent checking for trail damage due to our heavy rains. We came across very little damage all of which can probably be helped by rolling down some boulders into them. All in all, the trails held up well.
chapel in the rocks
One of the must sees in Sedona is the Chapel of the Holy Cross. This modern structure was built in the 50s.
Here’s an infrared scene from the Chapel Trail across the parking lot.
Interpretive Trail evaluations
One of the most exciting upcoming aspects of the Gateway area of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve is the Interpretive Trail. Today, temporary interpretive signs were put up and a large group of people walked the trail to give feedback. Their comments will help fine tune and improve the signs.
technical

The weather this summer has been cooler than normal and this morning was especially nice.
