If you’re still seeing this, it means I won’t have web access for the next several days.
Still lots of color on the North Access trail to Toms Thumb so get it while you can!

Almost nine miles (8.64) of hiking in the North Preserve yesterday revealed wildflowers galore! The same but more of what I posted on March 6th and March 7th along with new sightings. There were some nice large areas of Poppies and Lupine on the Tom’s Thumb trail but we got there before they opened. They were scarce in the Rock Knob area but I definitely see evidence of plants so it may the last area to pop out.
Photographers FYI: Most Preserve flowers are VERY small so take a macro lens.

I scouted for wildflowers on the Toms Thumb trail yesterday morning. With the temps climbing, there are now lots of blooms and many species on the verge of blooming. In bloom were: Combseed, Fiddleneck,Cryptantha, Arizona Popcorn Flower, Storkbill Filaree, Blue Fiesta Flower, Deer Vetch, Lacepod, 2 kinds of Mustard, Miners Lettuce, Yellow Throated Gilia, Chia, Birch Leaf Mountain Mahogany, Ragged Rockflower, Perennial Rockcress, Lupine and POPPIES!
Here are just a few photos:

White and yellow poppies are surprisingly still out in force. My lensbaby is working overtime 🙂
A little cloud cover made the colors pop. The wind, however, was a challenge. Photoshop art filters were perfect for this scene.
Taxes still not done but how can I concentrate with this record bloom going on! I’m going back out 🙂
Miles and miles of poppies at Bartlett lake. Going out for close-ups today.
Our Death Valley road trip was awesome but better yet was that the wildflowers held on til we got home!
From my office window yesterday morning I noticed that Poppies have come up all over the mountains around us. We haven’t seen them around here for about 10 years so it’s very exciting!
