While parts of the country are experiencing record cold, snow, etc, we also are having unusual weather. It was 79 yesterday and will be 74 today. That’s more than 10 degrees above normal. Here’s a view from my office window. We’re coping 🙂

attention getter

Cloe just recently started crawling up on my lap from under my desk. She’s very good at getting my attention and pointing out that I need to stop and play with her more often 🙂

With our rainfall level so far, this beautiful specimen of Hedgehog Cactus is likely to be filled with blooms this coming April!

When Cactus are stressed out, such as from extreme cold or heat, they often turn shades of pink, red and orange making them works of art.

chihuly challenge
![]()
I checked out the Chihuly exhibit yesterday morning and was reminded that a nice sunny day is not a time to shoot glass! An overcast day or early evening when the light is lower and more even is best. Since the show is here until May, I have plenty of time to get the shots I want. In the meantime, I used Photoshop to make the best of what I liked yesterday.

Quadrantids

Quadrantids is the name of this meteor shower taken from my rooftop at 3:59 this morning. The exposures were 30 seconds long so you’d think I would have captured at least one streak but no. I did see some but it was between exposures 🙂
