As we drove into a very small town in Utah, something in the building below caught my eye.

Luckily my driver is very accommodating! So he turned around and I found this inside.

We’ve been seeing Bobcats every day and yesterday saw a female with 2 kittens!
So…I try to walk the cats near the house but they quickly head toward the desert.
After all, there’s nothing to hunt in the driveway 🙂

Another photo from Saturday’s visit to Boyce Thompson Arboretum.

Hiked over 700 ft elevation gain to Inspiration Point in the Preserve today. Windy up there!
Encountering a group of Equestrians was a real treat. The trail is really narrow so they were brave.

The Chinese Pistache trees are in full color at Boyce Thompson Arboretum. The Cottonwoods will turn next.
The Arboretum has a wonderful fall festival filled with music going on this month. Worth the drive.

The day got away from me so here’s another Oak Creek reflection from last month.
We’re going back up for Thanksgiving weekend. The kitties are excited 🙂

The reason the day got away is that I finished my 2008 photo a day book.
Click here to view the entire book.
Thanks, Mr Gambel Quail, for sitting for my photo of the day. You’re one handsome dude!

All the birds seem to be enjoying the huge cholla skeleton I found recently.

I love this time of year. The sun rises later so sometimes I’m treated to this while I’m working!

ISO 1600, f/8, -1/3, 1/20th sec. Hand held of course 🙂
This afternoon, I finally published two books through Blurb. One features my first Photo a Day Project.
Because that was pre-Lightroom (2007), I totally underestimated the time it would take to put it together!

The other book is a fun one featuring the faces I’ve captured in the Preserve and surrounding desert.
All profit from this book will go to the McDowell Sonoran Conservancy. If you’ve created books thru
Blurb, you know it’s not much but every bit helps!

Cleo and Cleo encountered their first cat in 3 years recently. We had just arrived at our campsite
in Monument Valley when a very sweet black cat came around. Cleo did not share our sentiments!
