Yesterday morning at Rock Knob I found everything I had seen on Friday except Poppies and Lupine which aren’t quite ready but I was excited to see Wild Cucumber in bloom!
Wild Cucumber (Marah gilensis)
With nothing else new, I spent some time playing with depth of field (DOF). The fun has begun 🙂
Marianne, I love your second photo! The texture and color are wonderful, and I like the diagonal formed across the frame. Lovely! Is that wild cucumber?

Thanks, CJ! I love it too. Yes…the first two images are Wild Cucumber. I’m told it tastes a little like squash. Anyway…I had a issue with formatting the post this morning but I have the titles above each image now.
Well, its taste is something like squash, but pretty bitter – not only the fruit, but the flowers and growing tips, too. As I found out last Friday. (Hey, someone had to eat that first mushroom, right?)
Personally? I was waiting for it to get ripe 🙂
