I’m hearing reports from all my photographer friends that poppies are showing up everywhere. Even this tiny Pincushion cactus (Mammillaria grahamii) is sporting new growth so Spring has definitely sprung! I’ll be out shooting as soon as I get back.

From my office window yesterday morning I noticed that Poppies have come up all over the mountains around us. We haven’t seen them around here for about 10 years so it’s very exciting!

Flu, taxes and trip preparations result in yet another cat photo. This was taken just inches away with a Canon 10-22mm lens. There’s some distortion but I’m very impressed with how sharp the lens is.

I put together a short clip of the Wahweap Towers hike which will show you the scale of these amazing hoodoos. Most of the them were in total shade so photography was a challenge. This image was brightened by a software called PhotoMatix.
