chihuly challenge
I checked out the Chihuly exhibit yesterday morning and was reminded that a nice sunny day is not a time to shoot glass! An overcast day or early evening when the light is lower and more even is best. Since the show is here until May, I have plenty of time to get the shots I want. In the meantime, I used Photoshop to make the best of what I liked yesterday.
Quadrantids
Quadrantids is the name of this meteor shower taken from my rooftop at 3:59 this morning. The exposures were 30 seconds long so you’d think I would have captured at least one streak but no. I did see some but it was between exposures 🙂
(5DMKII, ISO 1600, 30 seconds at f/4)
chihuly at iso 4000
f9.5, 1/90th of a second at ISO 4000. It’s that last number that makes tripod allergic people happy 🙂
happy new year
Happy New Year! Hope you all are doing something you enjoy today! We hiked one of my favorite trails this morning….Tom’s Thumb in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. It’s less than two miles but very steep and technical.
darkroom cat on duty
Cloe doesn’t hesitate to rip a print apart if it isn’t up to her standards 🙂
short evening walk
Walks are never long enough as far as Cleo is concerned so he always complains when it’s time to go in.
franken-stone
Do you see him? 🙂
dark chocolate sea salt caramels?
Chocolate, caramels and salt?! No way. Waaay!!! How could I have lived so long and not known about this mouth watering candy?! If you love chocolate and caramel, check it out BUT have someone hide them and only give you one or two. Trying to resist them is worse than trying to eat just one potato chip 🙂
