Yesterday was the final day of installation of our landscape assignment for Desert Landscaping School. Hauling and laying rock, gravel and sand is hard work so I felt badly that I couldn’t help much because of my wrist. I did take this great shot of our class, though! Actually, it’s great because everyone is very happy that the work is over 🙂
Exam next week! Good luck everyone 🙂

Plant Identification exam
Here I am, along with classmates, taking the Plant ID portion of our exam yesterday. A photographer friend (who shoots for the DBG) happened to be there at the same time so I asked if he’d use my camera to take this shot. Thanks Adam! Adam (Rodriquez), besides being a phenominal nature and landscape photographer, also shoots portraits and weddings. You can contact him at: adamsphoto@cox.net

Succulents were on the agenda in landscaping class yesterday. Our teacher, Scott, brought in many samples from a private collection and each was as unique and interesting as this one.

Where flux goes, solder flows
Pipe fitting was our lesson at desert landscaping school yesterday. Besides copper, we also worked with PVC and poly pipe putting together sections of an irrigation system.
Next Wednesday, we have to draw a complete drip irrigation system!
I missed that class last week so I’m stressing already 🙂
Pruning class
I have a desert landscaping class every wednesday and some weeks we
are assigned to do actual landscape work at the DBG. Yesterday we tackled
the pruning of shrubs in the parking lot.
