I shot this last last month on a windy day out at Browns Ranch. There were several Ravens flying fairly close to us and I would have loved a nice close-up but I didn’t have a long lens. So I decided to shoot a deliberately overexposed image with the idea of creating a silhouette. All I did in Photoshop was a quick Levels Adjustment. I clicked the white eyedropper in the sky and voila!
Raven silhouette
Heavy sigh. You know me and ravens/crows. This has photomontageosity possibilities all over it. –Carol Leigh
Perfect!!!
Ha! As soon as I saw this image, I knew Carol would have commented and been envious. Ravens kind of creep me out, but this is a really cool image. I love the way he’s facing back in towards the branch so your eye doesn’t keep going to the left and out of the image.
Thanks guys! Compositing was on my mind when I shot this silhouette. It will go in a folder with all the others until I have time to work with them!
