Cloe’s no fool . . . look at how far back in the enclosure she’s staying. Are they a threat to cats? I live in a javelina-free zone and don’t know about these things! Interesting little photo essay or story you created with these shots. — Carol Leigh
Thanks, Carol. Javelina hate dogs and we hear of encounters all the time but because their eyesight is so poor, it’s usually because dogs will chase them and the Javelina feel threatened. With the cats in the enclosure, I doubt they can even see them and they were probably down wind of them. I always stay close by when they come in, though! By the way, what lured the Javs (as we call them) in this morning was bird seed. I throw it out so the Quail can entertain the cats but what Javelina lack in sight, they make up for in smell!
